    Junior Achievement is passionate people inspiring kids to learn the economics of life through free enterprise education. JA enables caring adults to share their experience with students to show them what it takes to be successful. After all, kids are our future.

    JA’s business and economics programs are for students in kindergarten through grade 12. The dynamic interaction between the volunteer and the students promotes active learning and brings theory to life.

    JA’s unique approach integrates program materials, trainings, and support. JA is the successful bridge between education and business.

    Do I need teaching experience to volunteer with JA?

    No. Junior Achievement’s delivery system provides the training, materials and support needed, and the curriculum is written to be taught by a business, parent or community volunteer.

    How do I sign up to volunteer?

    Email jahilo@jahawaii.org or call 808-292-0570. Tell JAHI which grade level interests you and roughly how much time you can give.

    What are volunteers not allowed to do in the classroom?

    Volunteers must avoid marketing or soliciting their company’s products or services, stay neutral about competitors, avoid influencing student consumer decisions, not distribute take-home sales brochures, and not recruit students for employment. Every volunteer signs the Volunteer Conduct Standards form before teaching.

    Why do teachers welcome JA volunteers?

    Volunteers bring the business community into the classroom, which gives instant credibility when teaching students about the world of work, and the JA resources reinforce the classroom curriculum rather than displacing it.
